Walking safaris are the purest form of safari. Walking in the Tanzania bush is completely different than any game drive in Tanzania. On foot you are a participant in the world of wildlife rather than a spectator, making walking a thrilling and unbeatable experience.
It is a great way to get to get up close and personal, as animals will generally ignore you in a vehicle, but on foot they see you as another type of animal. It’s also a great way to let your senses go wild as you walk on the same paths as the elephant, giraffe, and lions, along with other wildlife. You can feel the wind through your hair, hear the lions roaring or the buffalo grunting in the distance, and smell the bush and wildlife out in the fresh air. Your senses awaken as you become one with nature allowing the wilderness to become more real.
While out on foot, you can walk into the more remote areas of the bush and reach places that safari cars cannot access. Once you set out on foot, you are not constrained by roads and can go almost anywhere you wish. You will be away from the crowds, and off the beaten path. It also offers you freedom and solitude that is incomparable to any game drive safari.
For safety reasons and to follow Tanzania park regulations, an armed park ranger is required to accompany any walking safari trip.
We offer a wide range of walking safari options ranging from a couple hours, full days, a several days with tent camping along the way. A walking safari can easily be added to any itinerary and can be done year-round.
