The Lemosho Route is the least crowded and the most fascinating on the mountain. The drive to the Lemosho Route is very scenic passing through the captivation area, and local farming as you pass on through forest vegetation leading to the Parks gate. The route is unspoiled and beautiful as you make your way across the Shira Plateau keeping your sites on “Africa’s Rooftop.” The Lemosho Route can be used to gain access to the Western Breach Route or followed to the Kibo South Circuit to ascend by the easier Barafu Route. The Lemosho Route has one of the highest success rates when it comes to summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. The facto for this is the longer, slower ascent. Which gives the body time to gradually acclimatize to the altitude thus greatly increasing the success rate.
The Western Breach Route allows you on the night before the summit to sleep in the Crater next to the Glaciers giving you a stunning view westward towards Mount Meru and the setting African sun. In the morning the final ascent is less than 500 feet and can be undertaken after Sunrise and a leisurely breakfast or early enough for a sunrise summit.
